Lots of "Firsts"

My goodness, I honestly dont know where the days go anymore! The last week at the Froh household has been filled with a lot of firsts for Maddie. After I got the green light from her Dr, we were able to give Maddie her first bath. She really didnt know what to think of the entire experience, however, she did enjoy dad combing her hair after she was dressed!

Last week, Maddie and I had to experience Pat being gone for 2 nights for work. It was my first time being home alone with her for that long of a period, but we made it! Maddie was going through a growing spurt at that time where she would eat every hour and a half! I wont lie, it was tough to go through that without Pat here for support, but it was just fine!

Last weekend Maddie spent her first night away from home! We were in Horicon for Eric's birthday and stayed over and Nana and Papa's house! (Pat's Parents) I was rather proud of us, Pat and I didnt pack half of the house!

Last, but certainly not least, Pat and I had our first evening away from Maddie. We had a family wedding to go to and spent about 6 hours away from our girl . . .and it was tough! It was nice to have a "date night" together, but I will admit, we spent the entire night talking about her! When we got back to my parents house, Pat and I were both anxious to see her, hold her, kiss her, etc! Thank you for watching her mom and dad - I know it was a BIG FAVOR to ask of you!

Madeline is growing too fast! We are trying to take as many pictures of her as we can because we feel like each day something is different! Pat and I cant believe that she will be a month old this Wednesday already! Here are a few pictures I took of her on Friday. . . .look how big she is getting!

More updates to come!

The first week home. . . .

Hi -

Where did the week go? Pat and I are amazed at how quickly the past week has gone by with little Madeline at home with us. We have had a lot of fun getting to know Maddie and getting used to be parents. Here are a few lessons we have learned already:

1) Little Girl or Little Boy - it doesnt matter, open the diaper slowly to let in the air! Maddie has gone potty in our hands quite a bit!

2) Baby monitors are NOT walkie talkies. . . .Pat was in the nursery and called for me using the baby monitor while I was in our bedroom. . . . .I proceeded to talk into the reciever like he could hear me back! Hello Jamie!!!!

3) Teamwork is key. . . .as first time parents, it takes both of you to tackle a 6lb 9oz newborn!

4) Time is going way too fast. . .she will be 16 before we know it! We are quickly learning to savor each and every day because she is changing constantly.

Besides our time at home relaxing, we did have the opportunity to get out of the house on Friday morning for Maddie to get her first professional pictures taken. We just got an email that they are loaded online. . . .one word describes them - BEAUTIFUL!

Go online and take a look . . . .

We will be spending the rest of the weekend relaxing and visiting with family and friends!

Bye Bye Bed!

Hi -

Yesterday morning we took Maddie to the Dr to have blood drawn to see where she is at with her jaundice. It was a great appointment! For starters, she is gaining weight which means she is getting enough to eat. She is now at 6lbs 9oz. . . .she managed to pack on 6oz since we went to the Dr on Saturday morning!!! And while she was getting weighed. . . .she felt the need to pee all over the scale. After her checkup we headed home and waited to hear the results of her blood work. Dr Franck called to let us know that her level dropped and that we didnt need the bed anymore - yippie!!! We spent all day yesterday snuggling with her and holding her since we were not able to over the weekend. She is having a great time sleeping in her crib, hanging out in her bouncy seat, and swinging in her swing!

Here is a close up Pat got of her while she was sleeping yesterday afternoon - how adorable!?

We have been snapping shots left and right, so we will continue to post more pictures!

Slumber Party

We spent last night and today having a slumber party in the living room with Maddie's new phototherapy bed. I can tell today that her color is starting to change which is good news! She did great last night getting up every 3 hours to feed which allowed Pat and I to get a good nights sleep. Today we have been camped out in the living room hanging out. Even though we cant do a lot with her right now, we have still managed to have a few funny things happen today. During a morning diaper change Maddie managed to pee in her dads hand while he was changing her! Then, during this last diaper change, I went to put her new diaper on and there was a shot of poop in the air! Maddie managed to get poop on the changing table, a stack of clean diapers, the wall, and MOM! ;) Pat and I got a good laugh out of it though!

Here are a few pictures of our slumber party . . . .

Pat and Maddie snuggling on the couch before we made up our beds on the floor!

Our slumber party with Maddie!

We head into the Dr tomorrow to have her blood levels checked to see if the phototherapy is working!
