Happy New Year!

Here is an ornament we got for Christmas, very fitting for the new year!

It is hard to belive that 2009 is upon us already! The month of January is usually a long and slow month for us, but not this year. Last weekend Kari and I did some damage at the store to purchase all of our decorating supplies for the nursery! While we did that, Pat worked very hard on gutting the nursery to get ready for painting and new wood work.

The nursery is the main project for this upcoming weekend. I am so anxious to get everything finished and unpacked in that room. I am a rather organized person, and the mess around my house is starting to bug me. I am in the process of trying to organize and clean and it is never ending. BUT. . .I dont have a chocie but to be patient and wait for it all to be completed.

31 Week Belly
Besides the nursery project, we are keeping busy with our birthing classes and Dr Appointments. Before we know it, January is going to be over and done with! With all the activity going on, I have to continue to remind myself to sit down and relax a bit. I have been feeling great lately, but my body continues to remind me to slow down.
We will contine to keep everyone posted with pictures of Tootsie's growth, the changing nursey, and everything else on this exciting journey!!!
Thank you for all of your love and support!!!
Jamie

31.5 Weeks Check Up

Well what a week so far this has been. Our little baby is getting bigger. This morning I lost one of many bets with my wife. We bet on how big the baby is already. I guessed that the baby was about 3lbs and 2oz. Jamie guessed 3lbs and 12oz. Tootsie is tipping the scales at 3lbs and 14oz. It is hard to believe the baby is almost 4lbs already.

I realized two things today. The first thing is that time is flying and we have roughly 6weeks before the baby is here! HOLY COW! The other thing I realized today is that Tootsie is already on Mom's side of things with weighing in closer to her guess rather than mine.

We started our Birthing Classes. It was good to go over some of the things to watch for and when to get to the hospital etc. I am very excited to go on Wednesday this week as we get a tour of the birthing suites and the nursery at the hospital. The rooms sound very nice but I need to keep telling myself its not a hotel stay :)

Below you can see the latest and greatest pictures of our little Tootsie. Thank you all for your votes on the blog. We will see who is right and who is wrong in a few short weeks.

Love,
Patrick

Here is a picture of the baby's foot, toes to heel!

This is a little hard to make out since the baby is getting so big, but it is the head looking up. Under the word profile are "bumps" which are the nose, lips, etc.

Baby Themed Christmas!

Hi everyone!!

Boy oh boy. . .I sure got a lot of great gifts for Christmas this year, and I have not even arrived yet! Mom and Dad packed all of my goodies into the truck (just barely) and brought everything back home. It took awhile, but they got everything unpacked and placed into my bedroom! Since my crib and dressers have not arrived yet, everything is being stored in my closet. Even though she wont admit it, I know it is driving my mom nuts!!! Mom took some pictures of a few of my gifts for everyone to see!

Thank you again everyone for your wonderful gifts! I cant wait to start using all of this great stuff! Just 2 short months until I can!!!!

Tootsie's Presents

As Jamie explained before we were to secretly buy gifts for each other's stockings as well as each of us were to buy presents to fill Tootsie's stocking. We had a wonderful night last night celebrating our little family Christmas by opening our stockings up. Jamie and I were both more excited for the other person to see what we each bought. Either way you look at it Tootsie made out like a bandit on her/his presents. We added the picture of Tootsie's presents. As you can see Tootsie received a few cute outfits and a toy compliments of me. Tootsie also received a cute outfit, a badger pacifier, a great camo bib, as well as a bib that states I'm your Tootsie Wootsie compliments of his/her wonderful Mother. I know! Like I said the kid made out like a bandit. It was a fantastic time for us to open these gifts and wonder what next Christmas will be like. Jamie and I hope that everyone has a wonderful and blessed Christmas this year.

Take Care,
Patrick

More Weddings

December is a cold month I am glad that I got Mom keeping me warm for now. On Devember 13th Mom and Dad took be to yet another wedding. It was Dad's cousin Travis and Jamie's wedding that we were at. It was good to see some family. Mom and Dad started a photo opp by taking a picture in front of the decorated Christmas tree at the wedding. After Mom and Dad got a picture Mom took one with my Uncle Eric. And then after that everyone else started taking pictures there like it was Prom. I am excited to have my picture taken with everyone. It will be soon. I promise. See you all shortly!

The Christmas Before Baby

Happy Holidays!!

It is hard to believe that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. We were torn with what we wanted to do for gifts this year. In anticipation of the baby coming, there are a lot of things that we both have wanted to run out and buy. In an effort to not go crazy, we have come up with a small tradition that we hope to carry on for years to come. Over the past few years, there have been 2 stockings hanging in our living room. . . .this year we added a third one for the baby. We made a deal with one another that we would spend $20 to fill each others stocking, and then an additional $20 to get some goodies for Tootsie's stocking! The last few weeks have been a lot of fun as we sneak gifts in the house, get them wrapped, and shove them in the stockings. Both Pat and I are so anxious to rip those gifts open when we celebrate as our little family next week.

We also came to a very scary realization when looking at our Christmas tree this year. We have TONS of gifts under the tree already, how will we fit all the gifts we buy for the baby next year?? But, no need to worry, I will FIND a way to make them all fit!

Pat and I are looking forward to celebrating Christmas with our family and friends this year. We wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday season!

December Dr Updates

We are blessed with another round of positive Doctor Appointments this week! On Wednesday, we had an appointment with our OB and got to hear the baby’s heartbeat- 150bpm. Like last time, the baby was a little stinker and decided to show off for Dr Duffy by doing summersaults and kicking the wand. She also took some measurements of my belly and all is well!
Yesterday we had our appointment with our specialist Dr K. Our appointment started off with a wonderful ultrasound. The baby was very active which made it hard to take measurements and pictures! Since the baby is growing so much, only one part of the body can fit on the screen at a time! It is hard to believe that at 12 weeks the baby looked like a peanut on the ultrasound screen! The ultrasound tech was taking pictures of the head when we got a BIG YAWN on the screen. (see attached picture – tilt your head to get a better view) She was able to snap the picture in time to see the mouth and one eye open – simply amazing! Pat and I decided to behave and turn our heads while she was measuring the legs. We have waited 6 months, and there is no reason we can’t continue to wait! Our little Tootsie is tipping the scales at 2lbs 2ozs right now – right where he/she should be!
I was eager for our appointment because I have been having problems with my daily injections. It is getting harder and harder to get the needle in my belly, and when I do, I end up bleeding quite a bit! The Dr put my mind at ease that I have nothing to worry about, and increased the area on my belly that I can poke! The poor area right around my belly button can now have a break from the needles! Also, we were told that we will be getting induced on February 20th which is 38 weeks. Obviously a lot can change from now to then, but if the baby is ready to come out, that will be the magical induction date.

This week was a busy “baby week” for us as we put a deposit down on a daycare, taped off the floors of the nursery to ensure the furniture would fit, and finally got the furniture on order!

Next on the agenda –
*Buying Paint for Nursery
*Narrowing Down Baby Names – these are a secret!

I don’t think there could possibly by anything else I could update you on right now! We hope that everyone has a great weekend!
Love,
Jamie
